Our Story
How Infinite World Games & UtopiaVR came about
UtopiaVR began as one person's lifelong dream — a place where people from anywhere could meet, create, play and belong. It took three decades, a lot of heart, and a community of believers to make it real.
A dream takes shape
Inspired by worlds like Star Wars and the idea of bringing C-3PO and R2-D2 to life, founder James began designing an alternate dimension — "Other World" — where imagination could become reality.
Infinite Dimensional Creators, Inc.
James, his brother David and the team experimented with early VR — a Nintendo Power Glove driving a 3D world, homemade headsets, and peer-to-peer LAN parties — decades before consumer VR existed.
Realms of Infinite & Realms of Creation
The team built ambitious multiplayer worlds where every player had a role and communities grew together. That "everyone belongs" design would later become the heart of Utopian Life in UtopiaVR.
A spark reignited
Seeing Ready Player One with his kids — and the arrival of consumer VR — reignited the dream. Inside AltspaceVR, James saw firsthand that community is what makes virtual reality magical.
Rebuilt in Unity
The team rebuilt their vision on Unity, the leading VR engine — and stepped inside their own worlds for the very first time. The dream was finally within reach.
Infinite World Games, Inc. is founded
With a clear purpose — to build a true utopia — the company was incorporated and UtopiaVR got its name.
A complete, working platform
After 35,000+ engineering hours and 3+ years of dedicated development, UtopiaVR is heading to Meta — with a Steam launch to follow.
Benny Belivin
James's first champion, who believed in this dream long before the world was ready for it. Benny got to see the very first glimpses of UtopiaVR before he passed in 2020.
"One day you will build this and change the world. I know you will."
